Terms & Disclaimer

Last updated: August 2026

These terms cover your use of the Inksign application and the inksign.org website (together, "Inksign"), provided by Adjective LLC.

In plain terms

  • Inksign is free to download and use.
  • Your keys and documents stay on your machine — we never see them.
  • We can't promise a signature is legally binding where you live — that depends on your certificate and local law, not on us.
  • The software comes as-is, and you're responsible for checking signed documents before you rely on them.

The full terms below are what govern; this box is just a summary.

License

Inksign is proprietary software. Copyright © Adjective LLC. All rights reserved. Your use of the downloadable builds is governed by the End-User License Agreement that accompanies them. No rights are granted except as expressly stated.

Signatures and legal validity

Inksign produces standards-based PAdES digital signatures. Whether a given signature is legally binding or admissible depends on factors outside our control — chiefly the certificate you sign with and the laws of the relevant jurisdiction (for example, eIDAS tiers in the EU, or ESIGN/UETA in the US).

Inksign does not certify, guarantee, or warrant the legal enforceability of any signature, and nothing here is legal advice. For requirements specific to your situation, consult a qualified professional.

Provided "as is"

Inksign is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for verifying that signed documents meet your needs before relying on them.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Adjective LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of or inability to use Inksign.
